The End-game of entry-level IEMs, Chu 2!
MOONDROP, as a competitive rival in the Chi-Fi industry, brought numerous remarkable offerings, covering high-end and budget-oriented! However, this time around, MOONDROP updates one of the most popular earphone, Chu to Chu 2, another bargain hunter’s pick showing up with interchangeable cable to meet various needs, pricing US$18.99! A great contender? Time to find out.
Chu 2 uses Aluminum-Magnesium Alloy dome composite diaphragm, as a dome diaphragm material, Al-Mg alloy exhibits high rigidity and lightweight, thereby extending the treble bandwidth and revealing more subtle details. The diaphragm suspension is composed of two polymer materials with differing characteristics, resulting in a punchier bass and greatly reduced nonlinear distortion.
Hitherto, use of this Al-Mg alloy material was limited to a few high-end in-ear headphones and full-size headphones. It was considered a relatively costly diaphragm material, and the Chu 2 is the first budget IEM to make use of it.
Chu 2 was tuned by senior acoustic engineers and audiophiles with rich knowledge and wide experience, and exhibits an excellent frequency response curve in line with the VDSF Target Response. The aluminum-magnesium alloy dome diaphragm delivers a natural refined sound, rich timbre and imaging, and an ultra-wide response frequency band.
Thanks to the solid technology and meticulous design of the diaphragm material, Chu 2 offers a nonlinear full-frequency distortion below 0.05%, resulting in natural timbre and the reproduction of even the sublest details.
In terms of the acoustic cavity, Chu 2 is manufactured using MOONDROP’s mature alloy casting technology, ensuring both rigidity and fine texture. A durable paint layer protects the metal shell from corrosion.
Unlike Chu, Chu 2's nozzle consists of a separate brass CNC component, offering higher precision and density, and resulting in beautiful timbre.
Chu 2 incorporates a new generation of replaceable acoustic filters. The front end of the brass nozzle is detachable, allowing users to replace the acoustic filter quickly and conveniently.
Replacement is far easier compared with existing multi-layer filters, and the design makes for greater reliability. In the event of blockage or damage, the cost is much lower than that of standard nozzles.
With High-end decentralized materials and technologies, Chu 2 shows up! A perfect entry into audio hobby!
