MOONDROP PARA2 Planar Headphone Unveiled

Designed to surpass the original PARA, the PARA2 arrives with significant acoustic and engineering refinements, reaffirming Moondrop's commitment to premium over-ear headphones. In contrast to traditional planar magnetic headphones, PARA series adopts an ultra-large 100mm-diameter diaphragm incorporating Full Drive Technology (FDT). The entire vibrating surface of the diaphragm is evenly covered with effective driving circuits and enclosed in a magnetic field. This technology results in low-split vibration far superior to traditional planar magnetic headphones and comparable to that of electrostatics.

The PARA2 features a new 1.2μm ultra-thin diaphragm, which improves detail performance, accelerates response speed, and enhances bass depth.

It also continues the etching of highly elastic pure silver circuits based on a two-dimensional topological structure, greatly eliminating the influence of pure silver circuits on the surface tension of the diaphragm, and further reducing split vibration and improving diaphragm compliance.

PARA2 incorporates Tension Balancing Technology (TBT) to further balance surface stress, which greatly improves the uniformity of diaphragm stress, maintains low distortion even under large dynamic, delivering an refined experience when coupled with high-end devices.

The PARA2 adopts an array of 36 extra-large N52 neodymium strip magnets to generate a planar magnetic field covering the entire vibrating surface of the diaphragm, optimized by FEA finite element simulation, while promising the high transmittance, to ensure the uniform and efficient distribution of the magnetic field over the vibrating surface.

PARA series inherits the integrated unit cavity structure of its VENUS predecessor, but greatly modifies both structure and materials.

The integrated space-stacked structure of the driver cavity consists of a large magnetic circuit with a uniform magnetic field that completely covers the vibrating area of the extra-large FDT diaphragm.

After exhaustive and comprehensive mechanical simulation, the aluminum alloy frame of the VENUS was replaced with an optimized structure of lightweight, high-strength, industrial-grade plastic capable of bearing the loads of the magnetic circuit system and greatly reducing weight.

With high compatibility with VDSF's smooth, wide-band frequency response characteristics and a thinner suspension system, the PARA2 delivers an open and natural soundstage, offering a detailed full-range presentation. The smooth extension of the treble showcases its excellent analytical capabilities and response speed, resulting in a natural timbre.

PARA2 adopts a universal double 3.5mm interchangeable cable design with an inclined angle, allowing users to freely change cables to meet different requirements. Additionally, it ships with a premium 4.4mm balanced cable made of high-quality, single-crystal copper with 6N purity. Featuring a quad-core parallel-arranged configuration, this design minimizes interference to ensure uncompromised signal transmission quality.

The earpads are crafted from specially selected sheepskin materials, which are soft, comfortable, and resistant to aging and cracking. They are designed for easy removal and adjustment using magnetic attraction, allowing for simple replacement.
