We are excited to introduce a new brand, D&A, which is emerging as a bold force in audio with the launch of their first DAC/AMP, the Alpha Pro. This debut masterpiece transforms raw audio into vibrant sound and is priced at $699. Let's explore its features in more detail!
Where the rationality of industrial design meets the elegance of acoustic aesthetics, the D&A Alpha Pro stands out as both an engineering achievement and a sculptural statement.
The Alpha Pro was meticulously designed, utilizing the flagship ES9039MSPRO DAC chip with MQA hardware decoding, alongside fully isolated digital and analog processing. It eliminates jitter through 32-bit noise shaping and a proprietary "Zero-Jitter Clock" architecture. The 'SIGMA DAC' topology uses 8-channel differential signal summation for each channel, which reduces output impedance by four times and noise by 75%. This results in an unmatched dynamic range of 133 dB and a Total Harmonic Distortion plus Noise (THD+N) of -124 dB.
The device employs three femtosecond-grade oscillators—two for local USB clocks and one Voltage-Controlled Crystal Oscillator (VCXO) for the second Phase-Locked Loop (PLL)—which reduce jitter to just 15 picoseconds, ten times lower than conventional designs. This ensures sharper imaging, better detail, and a more natural sound across all input sources.
Furthermore, the digital and analog modules are physically separated through a four-layer PCB isolation and independent ground planes. The use of shielded blocks and star-quad power routing ensures zero crosstalk between the digital signal processing and the DAC conversion.
The Alpha Pro features 32 discrete transistors across four channels. The 4C-FBDA circuit achieves an output impedance of less than 0.1Ω and total harmonic distortion (THD) of just 0.0001%. It effortlessly drives headphones with an impedance range of 160-6000Ω, delivering 6000mW per channel at 32Ω without any dynamic compression.
