You'll see a clear nighttime sky!
A new good-looking IEMs dropped into MOONDROP lineup, the Starfield 2, the latest addition and the successor to well-praised Starfield. Four years later, Starfield 2 comes out and aims to improve the complete configuration, design, and refined tuning. Today, let's look at this crazy Starfield 2!
The Starfield 2 is a dynamic-driver IEM with Lithium-Magnesium alloy dome composite diaphragm. The density of lithium is only 0.534 g/cm³, and that of magnesium only 1.74 g/cm³, both lower than that of beryllium (1.85 g/cm³). Use of lithium-magnesium alloy as the dome material of the diaphragm offers a combination of optimum rigidity and a lighter weight than a pure beryllium dome.
Moreover, Li-Mg alloy has an outstanding damping coefficient. As a diaphragm dome, it not only increases bandwidth and playback details, but also effectively suppresses unnecessary resonance and improves the naturalness of the treble.
Building on the original Starfield’s technology, the shell of Starfield 2 adopts alloy casting and CNC milling of intricate details. Starfield 2 is aptly named, the iridescent paint coating reflects different colors when viewed from varying angles and in different light conditions, and creates a stunning effect reminiscent of a starry sky.
Unlike its predecessor, Starfield 2 uses a replaceable nozzle design, the nozzle consists of a separate brass CNC-milled component, with a gold-plated surface offering higher precision and density, and resulting in beautiful timbre.
Other than that, Starfield 2 incorporates a new generation of replaceable acoustic filters. The front end of the brass nozzle consists of a removable tip, allowing users to replace the acoustic filter quickly and conveniently.
Replacement is far easier compared with existing multi-layer filters, and the design makes for greater reliability. In the event of blockage or damage, the cost of replacement is much lower than that of standard nozzles.
Starfield 2 features a pressure vent on the cavity, which adopts a brand-new off-center diversion structure to effectively counter the negative effect on sound of proximity to the ear concha. It also ships with a bass booster plug that can be inserted in the groove of the pressure vent, resulting in greatly increased sub-bass.
Starfield 2 is meticulously tuned by experienced acoustic engineers, and exhibits an excellent frequency response curve in line with the VDSF Target Response. The lithium-magnesium alloy dome diaphragm delivers a natural, open, delicate, and highly accurate timbre.
For users who prefer a richer bass sound, the Starfield 2 bass booster helps to significantly enhance the sub-bass, creating a stronger presence and a more solid bass extension.
Starfield 2 has a brand-new customized high-quality silver-plated cable that significantly reduces interference in signal transmission through star-twisted structure. 0.78mm 2pin interchangeable design allows users to replace the cable or make use of Bluetooth neckband/TWS ear-hooks for different usage scenarios. Specially customized brand-new color matching echoes the appearance of the earphone shell and further emphasizes the starry theme.
Thanks to the superior technology and meticulous design of the diaphragm material, Starfield 2 offers a nonlinear full-frequency distortion below 0.05%, resulting in natural timbre and the reproduction of even the most subtle details. If you're looking for a solid IEM at an acceptable price, give it a chance to Starfield.
